Wi‑Fi, no internet and Personal Hotspot alerts in the notch

Know when your Mac reconnects to Wi‑Fi or loses internet, and see your iPhone's Personal Hotspot and its battery while you're connected.

The alerts

In Settings → Wi-Fi:

  • Wi-Fi temporary activity shows a short notice when Wi‑Fi reconnects.
  • No internet temporary activity tells you when your Mac loses internet access, even if Wi‑Fi still looks connected.
  • Personal Hotspot live activity stays in the notch while your Mac uses an iPhone’s Personal Hotspot.

Wi-Fi duration sets how long the reconnect notice stays. It starts at 3 seconds.

Hotspot appearance

Choose how much the hotspot activity shows: Minimal (the default), Detailed, or Battery, which shows your iPhone’s battery so you know before it runs out.

Priority

The hotspot has a low priority, so music or a timer shows above it. Change it in activity priorities.
