Charging, low battery and full battery alerts in the notch

See when your MacBook starts charging, get a low battery warning at the level you choose and know when it's charged, right in the notch.

Checked against the app on

The three alerts

In Settings → Battery:

  • Charging shows a short alert when you plug in the charger.
  • Low Power warns you when Low Power Mode turns on or the battery is low.
  • Fully Charged tells you when the battery reaches your full charge level.

All three are on by default.

Choose the levels

  • Low battery threshold sets the percentage that triggers the low battery alert. It starts at 20%.
  • Full charge threshold sets the percentage that counts as full. It starts at 100%. If your Mac often stops charging below 100%, for example with Optimized Battery Charging, set this lower so you still get the alert.

Style and sound

  • Low battery style and Full battery style: Standard (a detailed card) or Compact (a slim, charging-like layout).
  • Low battery sound and Full battery sound play a sound with the alert.

How long they stay

Charging duration, Low battery duration and Full battery duration set how long each alert stays. Each starts at 4 seconds.
