Under the files in the Tray, and in the Basket, is a row of round buttons. They act on the files you’ve selected, or on every file when none are selected.
The buttons
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| AirDrop | Opens AirDrop with the files. |
| Starts a new email with the files attached. | |
| Messages | Starts a new message with the files. |
| Save to iCloud Drive | Copies the files into your iCloud Drive folder. |
| More… | Opens the macOS share menu, with every app and extension that can take the files. |
A check mark appears when a button has done its job. A button is dimmed when it can’t handle the files you’ve selected.
Saving to iCloud Drive
The files are copied into iCloud Drive and the notch says how many were saved. Your originals stay where they were. If iCloud Drive is off on this Mac, the button says so; turn it on in System Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive.
If a button shows a message
- The files are no longer there. The originals were moved or deleted after you added them. Add them again.
- Not available for these files. That service can’t take this kind of file, for example a folder in Messages.
