AirDrop files by dropping them on the notch

Send files with AirDrop in one move by dragging them to the MacBook notch, then watch the transfer's progress right in the notch.

Send a file

Drag one or more files up to the notch.
Drop them on AirDrop.
The AirDrop window opens. Choose the iPhone, iPad or Mac to send to.

While the files send, the notch shows the transfer’s progress.

Before you send

Turn on Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth on both devices.
On the other device, AirDrop must accept from Contacts Only or Everyone for 10 Minutes, and it should be unlocked and nearby.

Other ways to AirDrop

From the Tray: select files and use the AirDrop button under them. See share files from the Tray.
From the Basket: the same buttons appear there.

Don’t see the AirDrop target?

Check Target mode in Settings → Drag&Drop is set to AirDrop and Tray or AirDrop only. See choose what appears when you drag files.
