Choose what appears when you drag files to the notch

Show AirDrop, the Tray or both when you drag files over the notch, or turn the drop targets off if they get in the way.

Checked against the app on

When you drag files to the top of the screen, the notch opens into drop targets. You choose which ones.

Pick the targets

  1. Open Settings → Drag&Drop.
  2. Set Target mode to:
    • AirDrop and Tray: both targets side by side. The default.
    • AirDrop only: drop to send.
    • Tray only: drop to park.

Turn the targets off

Turn off Drag&Drop live activity if you never want the notch to open while you drag. The Tray and AirDrop are still available from the Basket, which opens wherever your pointer is when you shake a file.

Other Drag&Drop settings

  • AirDrop live activity shows a transfer’s progress in the notch.
  • Tray live activity shows the Tray after you drop files.
  • Basket turns the shake-to-open basket on or off.
