Copy, drag or delete screenshots from the notch

Every screenshot you take appears in the notch. Drag it into an app, copy it, open it for editing or delete it, and choose where screenshots are saved.

Checked against the app on

When you take a screenshot with ⇧ ⌘ 3, ⇧ ⌘ 4 or ⇧ ⌘ 5, it appears in the notch.

What you can do with it

  • Drag the preview straight into a chat, an email or a document.
  • Click the preview to open it for editing.
  • Copy puts the image on the clipboard.
  • Show in Finder reveals the file.
  • Delete moves it to the Trash, so you can still get it back.

After a few seconds the notch closes by itself. The screenshot is saved either way.

Settings

In Settings → Screen Capture → Screenshot Hub:

  • Screenshot activity turns the screenshot preview on or off.
  • Disable system thumbnail hides macOS’s own floating thumbnail in the corner while NotchMind shows screenshots, so you don’t see both. The macOS setting is put back when you quit NotchMind.
  • Auto-dismiss screenshot and Screenshot duration set whether and when the preview closes. The default is 4 seconds.
  • Screenshots folder leaves screenshots where macOS saves them (usually the Desktop) unless you choose another folder. Then NotchMind moves each new screenshot there. macOS’s own setting isn’t changed.

Centered preview windows

If you allow Automation (System Events) in Settings → General → Permissions, NotchMind centres the screenshot and recording preview windows on screen.
