Compress any file or folder to ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ or GZ with the NotchMind converter, ready to email, upload or archive.

Make a ZIP

  1. Open the notch and swipe to the Converter page.
  2. Drag a file or folder onto it.
  3. Choose ZIP.
  4. Choose Convert file to ZIP.

The archive appears next to the original. Choose Show in Finder to see it, or drag it into the Tray to send it on.

Which format?

Format Use it for
ZIP Sharing with anyone. Opens on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android.
TAR Packing a folder without compressing it, common for developers.
TAR.GZ A compressed TAR, the usual format on Linux.
GZ Compressing a single file. Not available for folders.

Unzipping

To open a ZIP, double-click it in Finder. macOS unpacks it next to the archive.
