iPhones save photos as HEIC to save space. Some websites, forms and older apps only accept JPG. NotchMind converts them on your Mac, without uploading your photos anywhere.
Convert one photo
- Open the notch and swipe to the Converter page on Home.
- Drag the
.heicphoto onto it, or choose Click to select file. - Choose JPEG as the format.
- Choose Convert file to JPEG.
The JPG appears next to the original, named like IMG_1234-converted.jpg. When the notch shows a check mark, choose Show in Finder to see it.
Get the best result
- Image quality in Settings → Home Page → File Converter sets the JPG’s quality. The default, 92%, is hard to tell from the original. Lower it for smaller files to email.
- Need transparency or no quality loss at all? Choose PNG instead. The file will be larger.
- Want the converted photos somewhere else? Set Output location to Downloads or Ask every time.
Other ways on a Mac
macOS can do this too: open the photo in Preview and choose File → Export, then pick JPEG. NotchMind is quicker when you do it often, because the converter is one swipe away in the notch.
