The AirDrop and Tray targets don't appear when I drag files

Fixes for when dragging a file to the MacBook notch doesn't show NotchMind's AirDrop or Tray targets, or the AirDrop window shows no devices.

Checked against the app on

Nothing opens when you drag up

  • Check the switch. Drag&Drop live activity in Settings → Drag&Drop must be on.
  • Drag all the way to the notch. The targets open once the file reaches the top centre of the screen.
  • Check the target mode. With Tray only, there’s no AirDrop target, and the reverse. Choose AirDrop and Tray to see both.
  • Use the Basket instead. Shake the file while dragging and a basket opens at your pointer. See the Basket.

The AirDrop window has no devices

That’s AirDrop itself, not NotchMind. Make sure Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth are on on both devices, the other device is unlocked and nearby, and it accepts AirDrop from you (Contacts Only or Everyone for 10 Minutes).

A file from an app won’t drop

Some apps hand over a file only when you let go, such as Photos or a browser image. The Tray and Basket accept those; if one fails, the Basket says Couldn’t keep that file. Save it to Finder first, then drag it from there.
