Reinstall NotchMind or move to a new Mac

Reinstall NotchMind without losing your settings, or set it up on a new Mac with Migration Assistant, and what to do about your license on each.

Checked against the app on

Reinstall on the same Mac

Download NotchMind again from the download page, quit the old one, and drag the new one into Applications, choosing Replace. Your settings, clipboard history, Tray and license stay, because they’re stored outside the app. You may need to approve the first launch once more with Open Anyway.

Moving to a new Mac

With Migration Assistant

Migration Assistant copies NotchMind, its settings and its data to the new Mac. Your license needs one more step: each Mac has its own secure key, so the new Mac says This Mac’s secure license key changed. Open Settings → License and activate the same key again.

Without Migration Assistant

Install NotchMind on the new Mac and activate your license.

Free the old Mac’s slot

If you’re giving the old Mac away, open NotchMind on it first and choose Settings → License → Deactivate this Mac. If it’s already gone, email support and we’ll free the slot. See move a license.
