How to install NotchMind on your Mac

Download NotchMind, move it to Applications and approve the first launch with Open Anyway. Takes about two minutes on a Mac with Apple silicon.

Checked against the app on

NotchMind comes as a disk image (.dmg) from the official download page. There is no installer and nothing runs in the background before you open it.

Before you start

  • A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 15 or later. See which Macs NotchMind supports.
  • About 35 MB of free space.
  • If you bought a license, keep the purchase email nearby. It has your license key.

Install it

  1. Open the download page in Safari or Chrome and download the disk image.
  2. Open the downloaded .dmg file. A window shows NotchMind and your Applications folder.
  3. Drag NotchMind onto Applications.
  4. Eject the disk image (drag it to the Trash, or press the eject button next to it in Finder).
  5. Open NotchMind from your Applications folder, not from the disk image.

Approve the first launch

NotchMind is signed with an Apple Development certificate but is not notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to approve it once:

  1. Open NotchMind. If macOS says it can’t verify the app, choose Done (not Move to Trash).
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll to the message about NotchMind and choose Open Anyway.
  4. Enter your Mac password or use Touch ID, then choose Open Anyway again.

You only do this once. Updates install without asking again. If the message says the app contains malware or will damage your computer, stop and read what to do when macOS blocks NotchMind.

Keep macOS protections on. Never turn off Gatekeeper or run Terminal commands to remove quarantine to install NotchMind. Open Anyway approves only this one app.

After it opens

The notch shows a short welcome tour. It walks you through the permissions and where to find Settings; see the first-launch tour. Then paste your license key in Settings → License (how to activate).

NotchMind starts at login by default, so it is there the next time you sign in. You can change that in Launch at login.
