What works in NotchMind without granting permissions

You can use most of NotchMind without granting a single permission. What works out of the box, and which features each permission adds.

Checked against the app on

NotchMind asks for permissions only for the features that need them. With none of the permissions in Settings → General → Permissions granted, this already works. (macOS may still ask once whether NotchMind can see your Downloads or Desktop folder, for downloads and screenshots.)

  • Now playing in the notch, with artwork and progress
  • Home and its pages: Timer, Reminders, Weather, Stats, Converter, Developer Tools, AI Usage, Revenue and Traffic
  • The Tray, the Basket, AirDrop drops and quick actions
  • Clipboard history and actions (copy from history with ↩), and Secret Guard
  • Downloads, drives, battery, Wi‑Fi, VPN and Focus alerts
  • Coding agents in the notch
  • Calls in the notch, with mute
  • Screenshots in the notch, and screen recording alerts

What each permission adds
