Is NotchMind safe to install?

How NotchMind is signed, why macOS asks you to approve it once, what it can and can't access, and what it sends over the network, in plain terms.

Checked against the app on

It’s a fair question for any app that asks for permissions. Here’s how NotchMind is built and what it does.

Signed and hardened

NotchMind is signed with an Apple Development certificate and built with Hardened Runtime, which stops other programs from injecting code into it to use the permissions you gave it. Every update is signed, and NotchMind checks that signature before installing.

Why macOS asks once

NotchMind isn’t notarized by Apple yet. Notarization is a scan Apple runs on apps from paid Developer ID accounts. Without it, macOS asks you to approve the first launch with Open Anyway. That approves NotchMind only, not other apps. See macOS says NotchMind can’t be opened. If you ever see a warning that the app contains malware, stop: that’s a different message.

Permissions, one feature at a time

NotchMind asks for each permission only for the features that need it, and most of the app works without any. See what works without permissions and every permission explained.

Your data stays on your Mac

There’s no account. Clipboard history, the Tray, the converter, Secret Guard and coding agent tracking all run on your Mac. NotchMind reads coding agent logs but never changes them. See what stays on your Mac.

What goes online

License checks, update checks, lyrics, weather by city name, the Revenue and Traffic integrations you connect, and Smart Mode only if you turn it on. The Privacy Policy lists every detail.
