NotchMind asks for each permission only for the features that need it. You don’t have to grant them all. Denying one limits that feature; nothing else stops working.
See them all in Settings → General → Permissions. Each shows Granted or Needs access, with a button that opens the right place in System Settings.
The permissions
| Permission | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
| Accessibility | Notch gestures and watching which app is active, showing other apps’ notifications in the notch, the volume and brightness HUD, pasting from clipboard history, and controlling Clock timers. |
| Full Disk Access | Messages and Apple Mail notifications, the Inbox page, and the real names and icons of Focus modes. |
| Calendar | Your upcoming events in the notch. |
| Camera | The camera preview on the Camera page. |
| Contacts | Sender names and photos in Messages notifications. |
| Bluetooth | Battery levels of AirPods and other accessories. |
| Media Controls | Play, pause and skip buttons in the music player. |
| Automation (System Events) | Centring screenshot and recording preview windows on screen. |
Grant one
- Open Settings → General → Permissions.
- Choose Grant Access or Open Privacy Settings next to the permission.
- In System Settings, turn NotchMind on. Some permissions ask you to quit and reopen NotchMind.
Take one back
Turn NotchMind off under that permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security. The features that need it stop; the rest carry on.
Which to grant first
Most people want Accessibility right away. Grant the others when you turn on the feature that needs them. More on the two big ones: Accessibility and Full Disk Access.
