macOS remembers which apps you’ve allowed to use the camera, Accessibility, Full Disk Access and so on. Sometimes that record gets out of step with the app, usually after an app is replaced or moved, and the app keeps asking even though it’s switched on.
The point-and-click way
- Quit the app.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and the permission in question.
- Select every entry for the app and click −.
- Open the app from Applications and allow it again when it asks.
With tccutil
macOS includes tccutil to reset permissions for one app. You need its bundle ID:
tccutil reset Accessibility com.example.app
Replace Accessibility with Camera, Microphone, ScreenCapture or SystemPolicyAllFiles (Full Disk Access), or use All to reset everything for that app. Then open the app and allow what it needs.
Prevent it
Keep one copy of each app, in Applications. Running a copy from a disk image or Downloads creates a second entry.
For NotchMind, which I make, see macOS keeps asking for a permission.
