Make the notch wider, narrower, taller or shorter

Fine-tune the width and height NotchMind uses for your notch, so the collapsed notch lines up exactly with the camera housing on your MacBook.

Checked against the app on

NotchMind reads the size of your Mac’s notch from macOS. If the collapsed notch doesn’t line up exactly with the camera housing, or you’d like it a little bigger, you can adjust it.

Adjust the size

  1. Open Settings → General → Notch.
  2. Drag Width to make the notch narrower or wider, by up to 16 points either way.
  3. Drag Height to make it shorter or taller, by up to 4 points either way.

While you drag, the notch shows the new size so you can line it up with the hardware.

Go back to the original size

Set both sliders back to the middle, or use Reset in the toolbar to restore all Notch settings to their defaults. See reset settings.

On displays without a notch

On an external display or a Mac without a notch, the same sliders change the size of the island NotchMind shows at the top of the screen.
