NotchMind can draw the open notch in solid black, like the camera housing, or in glass that lets your wallpaper show through.
Choose a finish
- Open Settings → General → Notch.
- Under Background, choose one:
| Finish | Looks like |
|---|---|
| Black | Solid black. The default, and the lightest on your Mac’s graphics. |
| Semi Liquid Glass | Glass with a soft tint. |
| Liquid Glass | Clear glass that bends the wallpaper behind it. |
| Dark Liquid Glass | Glass with a deeper tint. |
The change shows straight away. Music, files and cards sit on the finish you pick.
Make the glass clearer or darker
With Liquid Glass or Semi Liquid Glass selected, drag the Liquid Glass slider between Clear and Tinted. More tint keeps text easy to read over bright windows; less tint shows more of what’s behind.
Glass on macOS 15 and macOS 26
On macOS 26 Tahoe, the glass finishes use Apple’s Liquid Glass material, which refracts what’s behind the notch. On macOS 15 Sequoia, the same finishes use a frosted blur instead.
If the notch feels slow
Live glass is redrawn on every frame. On older Apple silicon Macs or when you run many displays, Black keeps the notch the most responsive. Switch back any time; nothing else changes.
