The notch feels slow or uses too much energy

Make NotchMind's notch faster and lighter: switch to the Black finish, turn off features you don't use and adjust animation and refresh rates.

Checked against the app on

NotchMind is a native app and normally uses very little. If the notch stutters, or your Mac feels warmer than usual, try these.

1. Use the Black finish

Liquid Glass is redrawn on every frame. In Settings → General → Notch → Background, choose Black. It’s the lightest option, especially on M1 Macs and external displays.

2. Turn off what you don’t use

Each section of Settings has a switch for its feature. Turning off features you never look at, such as System Stats graphs or Lock screen live activity, saves a little work.

3. Sample stats less often

If you keep the Stats page, set a longer Refresh interval in Settings → Home Page → System Stats.

4. Animation

Faster in Settings → General → Notch → Animation makes the notch feel snappier. Reduce Motion in macOS accessibility settings removes the spring animations entirely.

5. Restart it

Right-click the notch and choose Restart.

Still slow?

Open Activity Monitor and check NotchMind’s % CPU while it’s slow. Then send a bug report with that number and your Mac’s model.
