Show new Apple Mail emails in the notch

See new emails from Apple Mail in the MacBook notch with the sender and subject. How to set it up and avoid seeing every alert twice.

Checked against the app on

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings → Notifications → Apple Mail.
  2. Turn on Mail notifications.
  3. NotchMind needs Full Disk Access to read Apple Mail’s local message database. Choose Open Privacy Settings and turn NotchMind on under Full Disk Access.

Avoid duplicate alerts

Mail shows its own banner too. To see each email only once, turn off banners for Mail in System Settings → Notifications → Mail. NotchMind’s Open Settings button goes there.

What you see

The sender and subject, or No Subject. Set how long it stays with Apple Mail under Notification duration.

Other email apps

This works with Apple Mail only. For Gmail in a browser, Outlook, Spark and other apps, use Universal Notification Interception, which shows their banners in the notch.
