Show iMessages in the MacBook notch

See new iMessages and texts in the notch with the sender's name and photo. Needs Full Disk Access; messages are processed only on your Mac.

Checked against the app on

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings → Notifications → Messages.
  2. Turn on Messages Notifications.
  3. NotchMind needs Full Disk Access to notice new messages. Choose Open Privacy Settings and turn NotchMind on under Full Disk Access.
  4. For names and photos instead of phone numbers, allow Contacts: choose Manage Access next to Contacts.

Messages notifications must also be on in System Settings → Notifications → Messages. NotchMind’s Open Settings button goes there.

What you see

The sender’s name and photo and the message. Photos, videos, audio and files show as Photo, Video, Audio or File.

Display Duration sets how long each message stays in the notch.

Why Full Disk Access?

macOS keeps your messages in a database that only apps with Full Disk Access can read. NotchMind only reads new messages to show them; it processes them on this Mac and sends nothing anywhere.
