Switch between AirPods and speakers from the notch

Use the output button in the NotchMind music player to send your Mac's sound to AirPods, headphones, a display or another speaker in one click.

Checked against the app on

The music player in the notch has an output button that lists the sound outputs macOS knows about: the built-in speakers, connected headphones, AirPods, displays with speakers and audio interfaces.

Change the output

  1. Open the notch while something is playing.
  2. Click the output button in the player’s controls.
  3. Choose where the sound should go.

This changes your Mac’s sound output, the same as choosing it in Control Centre, so everything you hear moves, not just the song.

AirPods aren’t listed

The list shows outputs that are connected. Take your AirPods out of the case, or connect them from the Bluetooth menu, and they appear. When they connect, NotchMind also shows their battery; see AirPods and Bluetooth.

Hide the button

If you never switch outputs, turn on Hide output device in Settings → Now Playing.
