The macOS volume overlay still appears

Fixes for when the standard macOS volume or brightness indicator still shows instead of NotchMind's HUD in the notch, or both appear.

Checked against the app on

  1. Check the switches. Volume HUD and Brightness HUD in Settings → HUD must be on.
  2. Grant Accessibility. NotchMind needs it to take over the volume and brightness keys. Grant it in Settings → General → Permissions. If it’s on but not working, see a permission keeps asking.
  3. Use the Mac’s own keys. Some external keyboards, displays and audio interfaces change volume or brightness themselves, outside macOS’s keys. NotchMind can’t intercept those, so macOS or the device shows its own indicator.
  4. Restart NotchMind. Right-click the notch and choose Restart.

Both appear

If you see the notch HUD and the macOS indicator together, the key press reached macOS first, usually because Accessibility access isn’t active for the copy of NotchMind you’re running. Remove NotchMind from the Accessibility list, open it from Applications and allow it again.
