Hide the notch in full-screen apps and videos

Keep NotchMind out of the way while you watch a video or work in a full-screen app, and still see calls and alerts when they happen.

Checked against the app on

In a full-screen app, the area around the notch is usually black, so the notch’s activities can stand out more. Two settings keep it quiet.

The settings

In Settings → General → Notch → Display:

  • Hide live activity in full-screen mode hides activities, such as the music player, while the display is showing a full-screen space.
  • Hide Dynamic Island in full-screen mode applies to displays without a notch: the island hides in full screen when nothing is happening, appears when an event occurs, and disappears afterwards.

Both are off by default.

Close when an app comes forward

Close display on window focus hides the live activity when the app it belongs to becomes active. For example, it gets out of the way when you switch to the music app it’s showing.

Just for now

To hide one activity without changing any setting, swipe up over the notch.
