When Claude Code or Codex is working in your terminal, the notch shows it, so you can switch to something else and still know when it needs you.
What the notch shows
- Which tool is running, the project and the task.
- Working or Done, and how long it has been going.
- The latest steps it took.
- Lines added and removed, and which files changed.
- For Codex, how much of your plan’s limits you’ve used, such as the 5-hour and weekly windows.
When several sessions run at once, the notch shows the most relevant one and how many more there are.
When an agent finishes
With Tell me when an agent finishes on, the notch shows Done for a minute when a session ends its turn, so you know it’s your turn. That moment briefly shows above everything else.
Get to Home
The agents panel stays while an agent works. To check the weather or start a timer meanwhile, swipe sideways on the panel or choose Open Home. Swipe back from the first Home page to return.
Settings
In Settings → Coding Agents, turn Coding agents live activity and Tell me when an agent finishes on or off.
Privacy
NotchMind reads the session logs Claude Code and Codex keep on your Mac, in ~/.claude and ~/.codex. It only reads them, never changes them, and sends nothing anywhere. There’s nothing to connect or log in to.
