Set keyboard shortcuts for the notch, clipboard and music

Record global shortcuts that open NotchMind, show clipboard history, control music and toggle the floating player, from any app.

Checked against the app on

Shortcuts work in every app and need no extra permission. None is set until you record one, so NotchMind never takes a key you already use.

What you can assign

Shortcut What it does
Open NotchMind Opens the notch, or closes it when it’s open.
Customize Home Arranges Home’s pages right in the notch.
Clipboard History Search what you copied and paste it again.
Floating Player Shows or hides the floating player.
Play / Pause Whatever is playing now, in any app.
Next Track Skips to the next song.
Previous Track Goes back to the previous song.

Record a shortcut

  1. Open Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts.
  2. Click Record Shortcut next to an action. It says Type shortcut…
  3. Press the keys you want, for example ⌥ ⌘ V.

Press Escape to cancel recording, or Delete to clear a shortcut.

Why a shortcut was refused

  • Add ⌘, ⌥ or ⌃, or use a function key. A shortcut needs a modifier, so it doesn’t fire while you type.
  • Apps rely on this shortcut. Common ones like ⌘C, ⌘V, ⌘Q, ⌘Tab and ⌘Space are kept free for every app.
  • macOS already uses this shortcut. It’s set in System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts.
  • Already used by … Another NotchMind action has it.
  • Another app holds this shortcut, so it can’t work here. A different app registered it first. Record another one, or change it in that app.

Shortcut names follow your keyboard layout, so the letter you see is the letter you press.
