Check it’s recorded
Shortcuts are empty until you record them. Open Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts and look at the action. If the field says Record Shortcut, nothing is set. See set keyboard shortcuts.
Another app took it
If the field says Another app holds this shortcut, so it can’t work here, an app registered the same keys first, often a launcher, a clipboard manager or a window manager. Record a different shortcut, or change it in the other app.
Apps can also claim a shortcut after you record it in NotchMind. If a shortcut stops working after you install something, that’s the usual reason.
The app in front uses it
Inside some apps, the app’s own shortcut wins, for example in games or remote-desktop apps that capture every key. Try the shortcut with Finder in front. If it works there, pick another combination.
Shortcuts NotchMind won’t accept
NotchMind refuses shortcuts macOS or most apps depend on, like ⌘ C, ⌘ Tab or ⌘ Space, and ones without ⌘, ⌥ or ⌃. Combinations with ⌥ ⌘ or ⌃ ⌥ are usually free.
Restart NotchMind
Right-click the notch and choose Restart. Shortcuts are registered again when it starts.
